Module 1: Awareness and Understanding 

Module 1 introduces the foundations of a Nature-Positive Economy. 

By the end of the module, you will be able to: 

• Explain why nature matters to economies, societies and human wellbeing. 

• Describe what a Nature-Positive Economy is. 

• Recognise the principles that should guide and measure progress. 

• Identify the roles of different actors in the transition. 

• Explain why collaboration and collective action are essential. 

• Apply the concept to your own role and area of work 

Module 1 contains six units: 

1. Why Nature Matters 

2. What Is a Nature-Positive Economy? 

3. From Concepts to measurement

4. Actors & System Roles (Who are the actors, What is my role?)

5. Collective action ( How do these actors work together?)

6. What Does a Nature-Positive Economy Mean in My Context?
